A closer look at the 18th
Here are a few pics of the finished unit from the painting article, the 18th Regiment of foot. One thing to note about the musicians; since this is a royal regiment with blue facings they do not follow the general rule of wearing reversed coats, (which would notionally be blue), rather, royal regiment musicians wore red coats faced blue.

I have always been fond of the 18th Royal Irish - if you ever find yourself in Dublin you can have a look at their colours which hang in the North Transept of St. Patricks cathedral.
